plot
Please read this in order to understand the general theme of the board.

It's 1998...
The war has been won, and Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort in a final battle in May. Good has conquered evil, and all is well. Life resumes with a strenuous relationship between the muggle and magical ministries, but the trust is slowly being rebuilt. The remaining Death Eaters have been disbanded, and all those who were captured were tried for their various crimes and put away in Azkaban. The world was good.

It's 2010...
Kingsley Shacklebot is still the Minister of Magic, Harry Potter is the assistant head of the Auror department, and the magical world in the UK is flourishing beyond anything it's ever seen before. There seems to be no darkness in the area, even when a storm is brewing. Everyone trusts the people in charge to take care of them, and people are happy and thriving. The world was good.

It's 2026...
Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom and numerous others who fought in the Battle at Hogwarts are on the run. The Ministry has fallen, and it's not in the way most people think.

After Kingsley Shacklebot's death in 2023, Ernie Macmillan was brought up from his former position into one of great power- he was nominated for the position of Minister, and received the most votes. As a former Hufflepuff, people believed that he would be a good minister, a fair and just minister. And, for awhile, it seemed as though he was just that. People were thriving still, and they trusted their government.

After only a year and a half in office, however, things got dark. Minister Macmillan adjusted to his position and began to enforce rules and regulations that most found appalling. Any who have committed murder would be tried for murder, and would be punished accordingly. Murder is murder, he stated in an address to the entire wizarding community, and we must punish it as thus, regardless of the case. Many who fought in the last wizarding war and had killed for the benefit of all others were now being hunted down and herded into overcrowded holding cells in the Ministry. Many more left their high ranking jobs and fled the country.

After all, there's nothing wrong with just a taste of what you paid for...
